A centrifugal pump that can automatically pump water up without filling the suction pipe with water is called a corrosion-resistant self-priming pump.

The working principle of the corrosion-resistant self-priming pump is: a vacuum is formed at the inlet of the pump, the water inlet check valve is opened, the air sucked into the water inlet pipe enters the pump, and in the impeller channel, the air and the radial return hole (or water in the return pipe). Together, they flow along the channel volute and enter the separation chamber. In the separation chamber, the air is separated from the liquid, and the liquid returns to the impeller. This cycle is repeated until the air in the suction pipe is exhausted and the liquid enters the pump. Complete the self-priming process.

Pay attention to the following 6 points when installing a corrosion-resistant self-priming pump:

1) The place where the water pump is used is far away from the power supply. The power transmission line of the motor should be appropriately thickened. The working voltage range of the water pump should not exceed 5%-12% of the rated voltage, otherwise the service life of the motor will be shortened or the motor will be burned.

2) Corrosion-resistant self-priming pumps should be installed with leakage circuit breakers or electric shock protectors, and should be reliably grounded to ensure safety. The insulation resistance of the measured motor should be greater than 2M ampere.

3) When installing, turn on the power switch first, let the water pump idle for a few minutes, and check whether the starting, operation and steering are normal.

4) After installation, check whether the bolts around the pump are loose, and whether the tightening torque of the coupling fastening screws is uniform.

5) The water inlet pipe of the water pump must not use rubber tubes, and must not be too soft to avoid flattening.

6) The inlet bottom valve of the corrosion-resistant self-priming pump must be placed perpendicular to the horizontal plane and more than 30cm away from the bottom of the water, so as not to suck up sediment.
